2010 H.L. Welsh Lectures in Physics - U of T, April 29 and 30
The Welsh Lectures in Physics have been held annually since 1975 in honour of H.L. Welsh, a distinguished former faculty member in the Physics Department. They are the major public event in the life of the Department of Physics. They are widely advertised in the University and invitations are sent to faculty in neighbouring Universities as well as to local Research Institutes and Government Laboratories.
The Welsh Lecturers for 2010 will be
Prof. Lyman Page, Henry DeWolf Smyth Professor of Physics at Princeton University
and
Prof. Maria Zuber, E. A. Griswold Professor of Geophysics at the Massachussetts Institute of Technology
