Crew Chief/Senior Operator

Required skills:

• Education: College diploma in field such as Geological or Earth Resources Technician (including coursework in Geophysics), strongly preferred. University degree in Geophysics, or related field, an asset. In certain circumstances a degree or diploma in other fields, along with sufficient previous experience, will be considered.
• Work Experience: 3+ years prior experience carrying out wide range of field geophysical survey methods including proven competency in operation of various geophysical equipment and instruments. Experience in both surface and downhole IP strongly preferred. Significant experience leading crews, and performing personnel management and training functions
• Character: Responsible personal character, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Able to work well in team environment, with proven leadership skills. Able to perform required tasks and make responsible decisions when working unsupervised
• Willingness to Travel: Interest in working throughout Canada and internationally. Able to mobilize on short notice. Able to adapt quickly to new situations and new places/cultures.
• Mechanical and technical skills: Able to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs of field equipment when necessary
• Physical Fitness and Outdoor Skills: Able to perform difficult physical tasks for extended periods in challenging physical terrain, harsh weather, and remote locations
• Computer Skills: Proficient in all relevant geophysical software as well as standard office software
• Valid Ontario Standard First Aid certificate, or equivalent; Valid WHIMIS
• Valid class G drivers licence, or equivalent
• Valid passport, or ability to obtain one
• Willingness to undergo further background checks, criminal record checks, and/or drug and alcohol testing as may be required from time to time by JVX or its clients
